About us

Discovery is endless. Whether in the Swiss Alps, in the Arctic tundra, in the Amazon or on endless sandy beaches on the Pacific, we love to experience nature. The diversity of this planet is incredible and never ceases to amaze us. Here we want to try to share some of our experiences. We are: Michel and Lisa, outdoor enthusiasts, food lovers, curious and absolutely haphazard – but full of ideas. Most of the time, things work out spontaneously. And if not, then at least there’s a good story.
Our current trip started in May 2024. We traveled from Zurich to Iceland by train and ferry. We circumnavigated the volcanic island with puffins, almost endless days and yet freezing cold temperatures in a rental car before taking a plane from Reykjavik to Vancouver. Canada is (unfortunately) a car country. That’s why we bought a car, installed a bed and discovered Canada for a few months. From Vancouver we went to Vancouver Island, on to the Southern Gulf Islands, back to Vancouver and then up north. We spend the longest days of the year in the Yukon, exploring Canada’s wilderness on foot, in canoes and also a lot in the car. Towards fall, we migrate south, cross the Rockies and sell our car in Vancouver. The journey continues by bus and train along the west coast of the USA to Mexico. A long bus ride takes us to the south of Baja California. The arid desert state with an incredible variety of marine (and terrestrial) animals has taken a shine to us. We stay here for a while.
